Amelia J. Leonard
Amelia Leonard represents clients in a wide variety of civil cases concentrating the majority of her practice in product and premises liability, personal injury, auto liability, commercial litigation, and employment-related disputes, both in Kentucky and Ohio. She has also been involved in complex bankruptcy litigation and has provided legal counsel to her clients with regard to a variety of business transactions, including the Consumer Sales Act, the Home Solicitation Sales Act, and non-compete agreements.
Amelia is licensed to practice law in Ohio and Kentucky. She is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan, Ohio Women’s, West Shore, and Kentucky Bar Associations, is the immediate past chair of the Women in Law section of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, where she still serves on the CLE committee, and is a member of the Ohio Women’s Bar Foundation Leadership Institute Class of 2016-2017. She routinely volunteers for the Women for Women in Crisis free advice clinics co-sponsored by Legal Aid and the CMBA/Women in Law section and as a judge for mock trial competitions.
Ms. Leonard attended Western Kentucky University, where she earned her B.A. degree in 1992. After working in a variety of fields, Amelia pursued her love of the law at a variety of levels and ultimately attended the University of Louisville, Brandeis School of Law, as a part-time evening student while working full-time as a law clerk. She obtained her juris doctor in 2011 before moving to Ohio with her husband in 2012. She currently lives in Lakewood with her husband and two (former stray) spoiled cats, Marius and Thor.
