Amelia Leonard represents clients in a wide variety of cases concentrating the majority of her practice in consumer construction law (CSPA/HSSA), breach of contract litigation, employment-related disputes (including non-compete agreements), and Ohio’s Open Meetings and Public Records Acts. She has experience with drafting municipal legislation, defense of products and premises liability, insurance claims, OVI/minor criminal/traffic matters, and occasionally fills in as acting prosecutor for the City of Huron all while providing legal counsel to clients with regard to a variety of business transactions and legal issues.
In addition to her busy legal practice, Amelia serves as a legal advisor for the Lakewood High School Mock Trial Team (2019-present) and volunteer judge for mock trial competitions at the middle school and law school levels.
Amelia moved to the Cleveland area in 2012 after graduating in 2011 from the University of Louisville, Brandeis School of Law, part-time evening program. While in law school, she worked full-time as a law clerk and interned for a Kentucky appellate judge. Prior to going to law school, she worked in a variety of fields, including transportation (held class B CDL), retail, restaurants, and in the legal field. When not working, she enjoys cooking, gardening, watching science fiction, and playing computer games with her husband. She currently lives in Lakewood with her husband and spoiled cats.
