Greg Seeley, Attorney at Seeley, Savidge, Ebert and Gourash
In Memoriam Gregory D. Seeley
November 23, 1947-November 17, 2023

Sadly, our Co-Founder, Gregory Douglas “Greg” Seeley passed away after a short illness on Friday, November 17, 2023. A graduate of Kenyon College (BA) and American University Washington College of Law (JD), Greg started his career with the Ohio Division of Securities. In 1978 he was one of four founding members of the Firm heading up its Business Practices and Healthcare groups. Licensed in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin Greg was an active member of the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, the Lorain County Bar Association and the American Health Lawyer Association.

Greg was a zealous advocate for his client’s interests whether in private placement, securities, mergers, acquisitions capital acquisition or lending transactions. Greg was also a prominent health-care lawyer representing medical providers and associated businesses in both administrative and regulatory proceedings. Greg developed the art of the deal long before the phrase became popular.

Greg’s work ethic and unfettered efforts on behalf of his clients became part of the Firm’s DNA and lives on within us. Greg was also a devoted family man married to his high school sweetheart Claudia (nee Owen) in 1969. They have two children, Attorney Matthew Kenyon Seeley and Melissa Katherine Meaney, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Greg was an avid golfer, loved traveling and the solitude of retreats in Vermillion, Ohio and Ogunquit, Maine.

I was privileged to be Greg’s partner for 49 years. Without Greg there would be no Seeley, Savidge, Ebert & Gourash. He was my friend. I will miss him. Our Firm will miss him, and his clients will miss him. His legacy lives on.
